Severe Weather Procedures
In the event of a heavy snow fall overnight we will do one of three things:
- Open as normal as we are confident the site will be safe and staff are able to get in safely and on time.
- Delay the start of the school day to allow the paths and carpark to be gritted and to allow staff additional time to arrive at work safely.
- Shut the school for the day and set remote learning for the children via Teams for children in Years 1 to 6 and via Tapestry for children in Nursery and Reception.
In the event of a delayed start ALL children should enter school through the main school entrance, where they will be escorted to their classrooms.
We always aim to open school but only if it is safe to do so. We will notify you by:
- Text
- Our school website
- Leeds City Council School Closures section: https://www.leeds.gov.uk/schools-and-education/school-closures
Please do not ring school if it is snowing. The above methods will be our primary methods of communicating any changes to the usual day-to-day arrival or departure procedures.
